In all my years, I have never understood Jesus as true Messiah.
But this puzzles me. Suppose he were the Messiah, that he died as a perfect sacrifice for human sin.
1) Why could not God just forgive people without killing a man and resurrecting him?
2) It's been said (by Christians themselves), that mankind is mere dirt compared to God. That we are stupid as earthworms, compared to God, whose thoughts are "not your thoughts", but far above.
Then why would almighty GOD put himself into human form (i.e., the man Jesus), suffer a horrific death, just to "save" us, if we are just worms? Who'd die for a worm?
