The best way to handle the mess with the degrading of our public schools would be for the Governors to meet and discuss the various failures and successes within their own states. I have attended Governor's conferences and they are nothing but social clubs!

Parents are furious when they pay their property taxes and see how much of their money is going to a failed school system. All Bush could come up with was a multi-million dollar series of tests which nobody has bothered to evaluate.

It seems to be out of style to make a commitment from the Governor's position to actually correct the mess within their Education Boards. The emphasis is on getting reelected rather than evaluating all the stuff that is failing in their states. Our house and senate has been in this same mode for 50 years and only the most basis laws are changed but never enforced. Our government from states to federal are a smoke screen of lies and deceptions.
