I was beginning to type a relatively lengthy response, but frankly I want to hear from someone else.

The question that's up in the air for me: exactly who, and in what combination, is behind the violence? The corallary: I fail to see what series of events are going to lead to large numbers of people not firing away at us in Iraq... think through the (depressingly a false dichotemy) notion of "Better Iraq than New York" "flypaper strategy" (echoed in the "the violence is a sign of the enemy's desperation").

Or, to put another way... maybe it's not fully "post-Sadam" yet... but it's merely transitional.

Actually that's more of a response than I was thinking I would post. Hm.
