Observer,
How does I Cor. 5:11 apply in a practical military situation?

Have you ever served in the Army? Do you know what it's like in the field, on the march? How you are FORCED to live shoulder to shoulder with your buddies?

If a fellow soldier were a "professing Christian" who was clearly in unrepentant sin, how could you avoid being in his presence?

There is NO PRIVACY in the military, especially in a wartime environment. It is NOT boy scout camp.

You march, sleep, eat with others. There are times you must urinate and do your bowel movements in front of another guy.

They even taught us to live off the land, if we had to. How to catch a rabbit, cut the head off a snake, slit its belly, eat the meat, save the skin.

There is no such thing as a "refined" military environment, when a guy can pick and choose whether to sit next to somebody else. You'd either get laughed at or disciplined for insubordination.

And isn't it ultimately childish to jerk away from somebody, pick up your plate, and announce haughtily "I'm not eating with you". That's like a school lunchroom.
