I guess I would have to say that I'm either a liberal conservative or a conservative liberal. I do believe that the intent in domestic programs are noble. I think that programs like WIC are essential to guarentee the health of many low-income kids/pregnant women. I also think that housing subsidies, head start, and early intervention have done tremendous work. However, like all govt. programs there is a trickle down effect (I think you were talking about this) and it has turned what could be very useful programs into heavy expenditures that don't use resources wisely--GOOD PROGRAMS but at times poorly administrated.

Don't even start me on campaign reform. The fact that our taxes go to support ANY campaign is ridiculous! UGH! Let them go out and raise money based on their merits as a politician.

I guess we will have to agree to disagree about our opinions on the wealthy in America. I simply believe that in the richest nation in the world our Nation's Capitol shouldn't be the armpit of homelessness, child abuse/neglect, and unemployment. I will never forget the first time I went to NYC and two blocks over from limos and fur-clad passengers were men almost dead laying on cardboard boxes on the sidewalk. This was previous to Guilianni and I hear he's cleaned up some of that....I know that economics is as simple as I've made it; I'm just giving my personal impression.

I respect your beliefs Quilly and encourage you to continue instructing those you know about helping the needy as well as legally changing govt. tactics they dislike.
