I have seen these little metallic things written up before. No one has ever been able to explain what they are and ESPECIALLY how they got into rock that old. They are obviously manufactured but who or what did it is another of those HMMMMM situations. We call them "erratics" and there is a whole lot of differing things out there that SHOULD NOT be there. For instance, I have seen pictures of a piece of Pre-Cambrian shale (500 million years old) with two (2) perfect footprints in it. Not bare foot prints, but shoe sole prints! The heel is perfectly defined in both prints and there they are and make of it what you will. The man who wrote it up and took the pictures was a working Geologist and not a man likely to have tried pulling some kind of dumbass hoax. Erratic? Yeah, at least that.
